Snow Goer Planning: We’re Elbow Deep

May 13, 2011

May 13, 2011

Happy Friday the 13th from the Snow Goer staff. We’re deep, and I mean DEEP, into the planning process for the 2011-12 cycle of Snow Goer magazine and we’re excited about some exciting changes we’re going to implement this year to make the magazine more fun, more informative and more valuable to snowmobilers from Washington to Maine to Canada.

Many people are involved to help improve the pages that reach more than 62,000 snowmobile-owning households. Editors are closely scrutinizing the pages, evaluating the content and determining where it can be improved. The art staff — you know, the folks who lay out the pages that draw in your eyes and make you want to read all of the editors’ magical words — is researching magazine trends and evaluating their own past work. Of course we have to let the sales staff and marketing folks put in their two cents, too ….

Deadlines for our first issue of Snow Goer are about one month away, so we’ll soon be hammering on our keyboards, putting together stories about the 2012 snowmobiles from Arctic Cat, Polaris, Ski-Doo, Yamaha, travel features, technology, accessories, mods, the future and more. Yes, more. Enjoy the weekend and remember that Haydays, the official-unofficial start to winter, is less than four months away, so you might want to head there now to make sure you can get a parking spot.

Elk River, Minnesota (January 5, 2010) – Racing your home track  is usually always cause for celebration, but this past weekend such jubilation was held in check for Team Sportech as the challenges of the ERX Motor Park track were heightened by lingering heavy snow dust creating a very difficult  racing environment. Still there was cause for celebration as Andrew Carlson captured his first win of the season in Semi-Pro Open amid very stiff competition.

With an off-weekend on the national tour, the focus of the snocross racing community turned to the Minnesota Regional ISOC event held at ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota. Many of the Midwest’s top teams were in attendance taking advantage of the “close” proximity of the event thereby creating a level of competition likened to a national.
